James Franco doesn't take kindly to New York Times criticism of his new play 'Of Mice and Men.'

John Steinbeck's 'Of Mice and Men' is back on Broadway (hide your baby rabbits!), starring James Franco as George and Chris O'Dowd as Lenny. And while reviews generally have been filled with high praise, James Franco is irked with the New York Times critic offering only a shoulder shrug of appreciation.

And when you're a pissed off actor today, it's time to hit the Twitter machine and let your verbal vengeance fly. Cue the Franco fisticuffs:

“Sadly Ben Brantley and the NYT have embarrassed themselves. Brantley is such a little bitch he should be working for Gawker.com instead of the paper of record. The theater community hates him, and for good reason, he’s an idiot.”

Well, that's got to sting for Brantley. If Franco keeps that up, Ben Brantley might get shivved by a 17-year old girl in a Whole Foods parking lot.
