Miss America asks school to not suspend student over prom invite.

Miss America 2014, Nina Davuluri, has asked Central York (PA) High School to reverse its decision to suspend student Patrick Farves for 3.5 days after Farves asked Davuluri to his prom.

According to The York Dispatch, school officials knew Farves intended to ask Miss America out when she appeared at the school to promote math, science, and technology--yet the school told him not to do it.

Farves went ahead with his plan, asking Miss America to accompany him to his prom in front of an assembled student body, to the delight and cheers of all in attendence. All, that is, except for school leaders, who removed Farves from the assembly shortly thereafter.

For his sake, Farves is taking the high road on both the suspension and the lack of Miss America at his prom, telling The York Dispatch he understands the school feels disrespected, and that he's not certain he was entirely rejected by the beauty queen.

"For the sake of my ego, I'm going to say no, I never got a direct answer," he said.
