'New York' magazine goes from weekly to bi-weekly.

New York
magazine--one of those weeklies you see on the racks all the time but never buy because you're not from New York, and Cosmo looks more interesting anyway--is going to become a bi-weekly magazine starting March 14, 2014.

The publishers claim the newer distribution will mean 20% larger magazines (hooray, more ads!), while the newly enhanced website will now feature a blog on human behavior, expanded fashion coverage, and an Instagram channel that focuses on "the best celebrity photography of the day."

And you thought classy magazines were dead.

In case you're wondering, New York magazine isn't that popular, despite the media's fawning and adoration. Of the 100 largest American magazine circulations, it doesn't even have half the sales of the 100th most popular. Wired comes in at roughly 820,000. New York has around 406,000. Hot page turners like American Hunter, Midwest Living, Reminisce, and Birds & Blooms all outnumber it by hundreds upon hundreds of thousands.

Yes. Birds & Blooms.

Exactly.
