Victoria Hearst says family's Cosmo magazine is pornographic, wants sales banned to anyone under 18.

From the file of biting the hand that feeds you...

Victoria Hearst has joined the movement of a Christian organization that's looking to see Cosmopolitan magazine banned from being sold to anyone under the age of 18.

Heart joined Praise Him Ministries in trying to convince her family's own publishing arm to accept "brown bagging" Cosmo (wrapping it in a paper covering) or having various states throughout the country ban Cosmo by classifying it under Material Harmful to Minors laws many states have.

"It's important to understand that we are not trying to censor Cosmopolitan magazine or stop the Hearst Corporation from printing it," Hearst told FoxNews.

I'll give you a second to wrap your head around that logic. Go ahead. Take a few minutes. I'll wait.

(((twiddles thumbs)))

Crazy, right?

The Material Harmful to Minors law bans "any communication, picture, image, graphic image file, article, recording, writing, or other matter of any kind that is obscene or that the average person would consider to a pander to a prurient interest; depicts, describes, or represents, in a manner patently offensive with respect to minors, and taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value for minors."

Lacking serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value for minors? So, by that standard, Sports Illustrated and Better Homes and Gardens are obscene.

Don't even get me started on Martha Stewart Living. Good lord, Martha gets all up in your face with the raunch!
