As part of a national day of service commemorating the 9/11 anniversary, President Obama took part by visiting a grade school in Washington, where he participated in a line of people inserting toys into backpacks which will be given to homeless children.
A sixth grader named Madison got to stand beside the president on the line, and felt then was as good a time as any to let the Commander-in-Chief know that she had high hopes for Beyoncé visiting, but got him instead.
"I really wanted it to be," she said, "but then I realized it was gonna be you."
Obama took the disappointment in stride. "Malia and Sasha would feel the same way," he told Madison.
