If you find Dennis Lehane's missing beagle, he'll name a character after you in his next book.

Dennis Lehane has had some success as a writer. As a dog owner? Ehhh...

His books Mystic River and Gone Baby Gone have been given the Hollywood treatment to great reviews.

As for his dog-reaing, Lehane's beagle, Tessa, ran away from her Boston-area home last week, and Lehane needs your help finding her.

Lehane has established a Finding Tessa Facebook page, and promises that anyone who helps find his beloved beagle will have a character named after them in his next book.

Considering Lehane writes dark crime dramas about child molesters, you might want to second-guess having one of his characters named after you.

In case you're wondering, Tessa was last seen in the Brookline/Allston area of Boston. She's described as "immeasurably sweet," which is startling because that's how elderly women describe me, too.
