Pauline and Theresa Leisenring, sisters from Elmira, New York, are long dead, but a postcard mailed to them from their (also long dead) parents finally arrived to the correct address.
The Leisenring parents were visiting their son, George, at Camp Grant in Illinois, an old military base used during both World Wars, when they wrote their daughters the following, fairly boring message:
"Dear Pauline and Theresa, We arrived safe, had a good trip, but we were good and tired. Geo. looks good, we all went out to dinner today (Sunday). Now we are in the park. Geo has to go back to Grant at 12 o'clock tonight. Do not see much of him. We are going to make pancakes for Geo for supper tonight. See you soon. Love Mother, Dad."
Pancakes for dinner? This George fella was living the dream, my friend. Living the flapjack dream...
