2016 has been a great year if you have money riding in a celebrity death pool.
Have you already won this year? You're a horribly morbid human being.
Haven't won yet? Don't worry. Betty White and Bob Barker can't live forever.
This is a roundabout way of saying that Watership Down author, Richard Adams, died on December 24th, according to a press release from his family. He was 96-years old.
The book sold over a million copies in his native United Kingdom, became hugely popular worldwide, and was eventually made into a movie.
In other words, Adams had a good go of it.
But if I'm any other celebrity at this point, I'm sitting in a padded room, alone in the dark, and trying to ride out the next four days in hiding.
