Rhodes Scholars were announced. It was a regular list until a couple of stray schools snuck in.

Thirty-two American students are selected to be a Rhodes Scholar every year, based regionally throughout sixteen districts. This year, like most years, it's your regular who's who of schools.

Two Harvards...
three Browns...
three Princetons...
four Yales...
three MITs...

...your stray Stanford, Dartmouth, Notre Dame, Cornell. All to be expected.

But a student was selected from something called Wabash College? Another from the University of Tennessee--Chattanooga?

Good for Wabash and the folks down in Tennessee, because the laws of academics dictate they should rarely crack such a list. If they keep this up, some uplifting B-grade movie will be made about this and air on Lifetime TV some Saturday night starring Scott Baio or Jennifer Love Hewitt.
