The name of Target's sandals either means 'peaceful' or 'urine' depending on which language you prefer.

'Orina'
means 'peace' or 'peaceful' in Russian, or so the branding experts at Target thought when they named a style of sandals after that. Sandals equal peaceful footsies, and all that good stuff.

Except 'orina' also means 'urine' in Spanish, which is a much less sexy proposition when you're trying to woo a diverse customer base.

So Target is desperately trying to relabel/rebrand those sandals into something less human waste-y inspired.

Because Spanish is such an obscure, little-used language.
