Average is best described as nice. It's not bad, but it's not unbelievably awesome either. This is notable because the Boston Globe reports that Townsend, MA, is statistically the most average town in all of Massachusetts. Average in every way. Population, income, race--you name it, Townsend comes out nearly down the middle with statistical expectations.
Townsend happens to be two towns over from Fitchburg, and its population flocks to FSU for college. But considering all averages must have a high and low to equal things out, I'm just going to assume only Townsend's geniuses are attending FSU.
